Provided information on Opt-In Paths
Each Active Campaign has at least one opt-in path. An opt-in path defines the way subscribers join a campaign. Campaigns can have an unlimited number of opt-in paths, which can be useful for targeting your message to different audiences, or measuring the impact of different outreach media. For example, if you were selling pet food, you could have separate opt-in paths for cat lovers and dog lovers. Or, you could use different opt-in paths for your print, TV, and radio outreach. You could then compare the efficacy of the different calls to action.
Each opt-in path contains one conversation and can have one or multiple keywords.
There are two types of opt-in paths. The first is a phone opt-in path, through which a user joins your campaign by texting in a keyword to a short code. The second type of opt-in path is a web opt-in path, in which the user joins by filling out a web form on your website, or from Mobile Commons’ integration with your CRM.

Creating a Web Opt-In Path
Please note that if you are using the API to create subscriptions through a web opt-in path you may only add a phone number whose permission to message them you have obtained. You must have a record of this permission being granted. Once you have permission to opt a number in, you may opt them in to each campaign one time and one time only through the API. If a subscriber is already a member of that campaign or was previously a member of that campaign they will not receive a welcome message and no subscription will be generated (if they were already an active subscriber they will stay that way, if they were a subscriber and opted-out they will remain opted-out). When using the API to add a new profile to a campaign through a specific opt-in path, all opt-in path settings apply.
